Support COS Reads – Help Us Build the Future

We’ve already opened our first small, volunteer-run library in Northwest Colorado Springs — proof of what neighbors can achieve when we come together. But to keep it thriving, expand our space, and drive lasting change, we need your support.

COS Reads is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving library access and advocating for transparency and reform in the Pikes Peak Library District. Our first initiative, Save Rockrimmon Library, is focused on ensuring our community doesn’t lose its place to read, learn, and connect.

With your donation, you’ll help us:

-- Maintain and grow our volunteer-run interim library

-- Fund legal and advocacy efforts to bring accountability to PPLD

-- Strengthen community events and organizing for long-term change

👉 Your gift keeps the shelves full, the doors open, and the community reading and meeting.

💡 Every dollar makes a difference. Join us today in protecting access, transparency, and the future of our libraries. Thank you!

Why donate now?

We need your support to secure a lease and make this vision a reality. The earlier we collect funds, the more effectively we can negotiate favorable terms and plan for the future.

Donation confidence:

COS Reads is an officialy recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, FEIN 33-2257385. Your donations are securely managed, and a receipt will be provided for your records.

In the unlikely event we cannot move forward, donations will be refunded on a prorated basis.

Why Your Donation Matters Now

Our long-term goal is to restore the Pikes Peak Library District’s traditional values, ensure fiscal responsibility, rehabilitate the Board of Trustees, and work toward reopening the Rockrimmon Library.

In the short term, renting the Rockrimmon Library location will:

- Preserve the space for our future library district.

- Provide a venue for community services, programs, and events.

- Establish an interim lending library run by volunteers.

If we do not act now, the space will likely be leased for five or more years, making it unavailable to us in the future.

We’ve previously raised over $90,000 in pledges, but donations need to be converted to cash in our new bank account to demonstrate fiscal viability to the landlord. While we are exploring corporate donations and grants, these funds take time to secure.

Thank you for supporting this cause. Together, we can ensure our community’s library legacy endures.
